Award-Winning Director Nick Nanton Helps Advisors Cut Through the Noise

Visual storytelling helps foster genuine connections with current and prospective clients

October 26, 2021 — CEG Worldwide is partnering with 22-time Emmy Award-winning director Nick Nanton to help advisors clearly demonstrate their value to clients and prospective clients. This collaboration will enable the firm’s advisor clients to produce monthly livestreams, podcasts, snackable videos and other real-time media so that they can forge deeper, authentic connections with their clients.

When the pandemic forced Nanton to curtail his typical filmmaking activities, he experimented with a variety of methods of real-time storytelling, including livestreams and podcasts. While these types of storytelling aren’t new, the isolation people felt during the pandemic left them hungry for human connection, particularly through visual media.

“The financial services industry is deeply rooted in personal relationships, but it’s historically tended to communicate more on a level of products and services,” said Nanton. “Storytelling that focuses on human-to-human connections can bring a level of emotion to an advisor’s message that hasn’t been seen in the industry before.”

CEG Worldwide has long encouraged advisors to focus on the way they describe their practice to clients and prospective clients. “In the past, we’ve been very good at framing messages through words, but with so many ways to get a verbal message out, visual channels are becoming more important for punching through the noise and making advisors more desirable,” said John Bowen, CEG Worldwide’s founder and CEO. “Instead of just telling advisors how to do this, we wanted to find an expert who could show them how to do it at a high level—and that led us to Nick.”

For Nanton, the partnership has been a natural extension of his mission to figure out the best way to communicate genuine stories and build authentic human relationships, and then bring those methods to other business owners and entrepreneurs. CEG Worldwide’s work to bring forward-thinking technologies and communication methods into the financial community offered an opportunity to do just that. “If you aren’t showing up or people don’t know you exist, you can’t help them,” Nanton said. “Visual storytelling helps advisors show up in a way that’s relevant and current, but also unique to their own style and voice.”
