Since 2000, when she founded her own consulting and coaching practice, Tara Butler has been committed to helping corporate executives and entrepreneurs reach their highest personal and professional potential. She has worked with hundreds of individuals in organizations ranging from entrepreneurial startups to Fortune 500 companies, including Morgan Stanley, Avanade, Starbucks, Microsoft, StockCharts.com and Getty Images.
Butler was first introduced to coaching after hiring a coach in her first executive role at PhotoDisc, where she ran the worldwide sales and service organization for four years. She found that coaching helped her in her career, personal and professional relationships, and work-life balance. Sales at PhotoDisc grew to $150 million during her tenure, before the company merged with Getty Images, where Butler went on to become the vice president of sales and service and the vice president of business affairs.
Butler eventually became vice president of client services at Who’s Calling, where she oversaw client development, client services and client training before starting her own consulting and coaching company. Having led teams of up to 80 people, she has always been passionate about training and development and helping others overcome obstacles and realize their highest potential. She was appointed a board member of The Excellence Foundation, a nonprofit organization that offers personal development programs, and was the group’s executive director for more than a year. Butler has also developed, implemented and facilitated training programs for thousands of employees on customer relationship management, conflict resolution, negotiation, consultative selling and consulting essentials.
Butler is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) through the Coaches Training Institute and an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coaching Federation. She is also a graduate of the CTI Coaching Program and CTI Leadership Program. She has a BA from Kenyon College and a Certification in Business from the University of Washington.
