His educational and athletic highlights include receiving an athletic scholarship (baseball), academic internship and graduate fellowship from the College of Education. In addition, he received an NCAA post-graduate scholarship. He is an athletic Hall of Fame recipient from Lincoln High, 3-year letter winner from the University of Nebraska, and lifetime “N” Club Member.
Professional Experience – 1977 – Present
Dr. Zangari taught in the Lincoln Public Schools, (History) for two years before accepting a faculty and administrative position from the University of Nebraska. In addition to teaching, he coordinated non-credit business programs for adult students. He was chosen to open and direct the first academic university office off-campus in the state of Nebraska, in Scottsbluff.
During his 9 ½ year career at the University, he was also selected as the Field Director for the NOVA Program (Richard Nixon’s VISTA Organization).
While on leave from the University, he served Governor Exon for 2 years as a Planner for Nebraska’s Technical Assistance Agency. This office coordinated all poverty programs in the State of Nebraska.
Dr. Zangari then began a 22 year career with the Gallup Organization. In addition to serving as President of the Selection Division, he was a 20 year member of the Board of Directors. During this period he developed a national and international reputation as a speaker and consultant on leadership and sales force development. He supervised and contributed to a number of Gallup’s best selling books and was an integral part of Gallup’s world-wide growth.
Among the companies Dr, Zangari has consulted with include: State Farm Insurance, The Disney Organization, Federal Express, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Astra Merck, Merrill Lynch, Apple, and the National Football League. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Gallup Organization, Gallup-Japan, Gallup- UK, Doane College Business Program, and has served on many advisory committees.
For six years, Dr. Zangari served as an Independent Contractor in the Financial Services Industry. During that time period, he helped to grow a mid-size mortgage company to the largest specialty lender in the United States. Initially focusing on sales growth and sales force development, he was additionally assigned to help develop leadership, and customer engagement programs.
For the past two years, Dr. Zangari has continued as an Independent Contractor for financial institutions such as Wells Fargo. He has also served on the Board of Directors of eFrame Technology Solutions, a managed technology company.
He has recently been appointed as a Managing Principle of CEG Worldwide, an industry leading consultant in the financial services industry.
